Designed to withstand exceptional environmental exposure and to perform reliably even after immersion in water.

Features improved grip for easy handling and conforms to SOLAS 74/88 as amended.

Rocket propels a red flare attached to a parachute to 300m and burns for 40 seconds.

SOLAS requires that 12 rockets are carried on Ships Bridge and 4 rockets are fitted in liferafts and lifeboats.

APPLICATION

A day or night long-range distress signal.

12 may be carried on ships bridge and there is a requirement for 4 in ships lifeboats and liferafts.

Also suitable for use in other commercial and recreational boats.

OPERATION

  1. Hold signal firmly by ribbed handle. Unscrew RED bottom cap. Do not point at people or property.

  2. Hold rocket vertically above head pointing away from body.

  3. Ensure hands remain clear of top. To fire - pull red ball sharply down.

SPECIFICATIONS

Measuring 287 mm (11.3 in) in length, this parachute rocket has a diameter of 38 mm (1.5 in) at its handle and 32 mm (1.25 in) in diameter. Maximum weight reaches 245g (8.23 oz) with a maximum total impulse of 92g (3.25 oz). It emits 30,000 candelas of light for 40 seconds, with the light being red in color. Ignition is done through a pull-wire ignitor and the rocket can reach a maximum altitude of 300 m (985 ft).

STORAGE

Ideally, should be stored in the robust, specially designed Polybottle, or in a dry, easily accessed location at ambient temperature.

APPROVALS

Conforms to SOLAS 74 as amended, IMO Resolution 96/98/EC. MED - BGV 425.005, BAM-P2-0059, 0589-P2-0046, USCG and other major maritime authorities world-wide.

Returns need to made within 14 days in order for us to arrange a refund or swap out of product. The product needs to be retuned in the same condition as received. There will be a 10% handling fee for any damaged packaging.
