SPX: Cross-linked Closed Cell Expanded Polyethylene
What is SPX Polyethylene Foam?
Expanded polyethylene (aka SPX foam) refers to foams made from polyethylene. It is manufactured from plastic pellets, and a blowing agent is used to expand the material in a mould heated by steam. It is primarily used in material for packaging goods as it is lightweight, resilient and flexible. It has excellent shock absorption and cushioning properties. SPX expanded polyethylene sheets also have a tremendous weight-to-strength ratio and high thermal resistance.
Advantages of SPX Foam
The SPX33 range is free from CFCs and HCFCs. Its expanded polyethylene is resistant to dilute alkalis and acids, some oils, and is unaffected by external elements. Non-toxic by nature, it also offers excellent absorption properties. Our premium, closed-cell foam is water-resistant and an optimal buoyancy solution, with fire retardant and rough cell variants also available. Compliant with SAMSA regulations.
